Quicksand Tournament Specifics

Quicksand pairings are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Member COREY GRIMES to our Quicksand tournament.
  • We still have room for 3 more players. If you haven’t signed up yet and want to play, please let us know ASAP.
  • Quicksand has no driving range. There is a small driving range about 8 miles South of Dripping Springs on Hwy 12 if you need to hit balls before play. The range is on the left as you travel South.
  • A reminder to all players: Please record GROSS SCORES ONLY on your official scorecard….and circle Birdies and Eagles.

 

All players are responsible for knowing tournament specifics including Pairings, Assigned Tees, Flights, Starting Times, and Rules of Play. This information will be posted at Quicksand Pro Shop prior to start of play.

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

Kevin Lowe and Scott Preece will be the CTGA Directors in charge of this event, assisted by Eddie Nunez. Please direct tournament day questions or concerns to them.

FORMAT: MEDAL PLAY

Skins & Deuces - $5.00 each

NOTE: Carts are included in above Tournament Fee. Again, there is no driving range at Quicksand.

CTGA PACE OF PLAY: We’ll continue to push for our 4:30 pace target. Note that penalties will be assessed for “Excessive Slow Play”.

QUICKSAND DRESS CODE: No specific requirements for golf attire. CTGA does, however, request all players to dress consistent with upscale course requirements. They are a soft spike facility.

Jimmy Clay Tournament Specifics

Jimmy Clay pairings are now available.

 

  • CTGA welcomes Special Guest CONNOR LOWE to our Jimmy Clay tournament.
  • We still have room for up to 2 more players if you haven’t signed up yet and want to play. If you can, please let us know ASAP.
  • To help keep us focused on CTGA PACE of PLAY, we will have monitor sheets at holes #6 and #12. The Pace of Play Champion of your 4-some will be asked to record the actual time your group finishes these holes and compare with the expected time to complete our round in 4:30. Please work together to ensure your 4-some keeps up and accomplishes this important goal.

Vaaler Creek pairings are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Member PAUL COLE, STEVEN JENSEN and DONALD MARSHALL and Special Guest AL DUFFEY to our Vaaler Creek tournament.
  • We still have room for up to 2 more players if you haven’t signed up yet and want to play. If you can, please let us know ASAP.
  • Our primary focus for Saturday is for all players to play well. Our secondary focus is CTGA PACE of PLAY. All players need to be conscious of where you are to the “group in front”. Please work together to ensure your 4-some keeps up and finishes within 4 hours 30 minutes.

VAALER CREEK DRESS CODE: Their dress code requires collared or mock turtle shirt and no ragged jeans. CTGA requests all players to dress consistent with upscale course requirements. They are a soft spike facility.

 

DIRECTIONS TO VAALER CREEK:

From the junction of Hwy 290W and Hwy 281, continue on Hwy 281 about 11 miles to Blanco, TX. Continue about 3 miles South of Blanco to Rocking J Ranch development.

Note: If you see Logan’s Way, you’ve gone about ½ mile too far.

When you enter into Rockin' J Ranch you will drive through the gate and proceed past the sales office. Approximately one mile past the gate you will come to a 4-way intersection. If you are only going to the practice range, you will turn right. If you are going to the golf shop to play, you will continue straight through the intersection another 3/4 of a mile until you come to Jeff Vaughn Road. Turn right and you will drive 1/4 mile and the golf shop will be on your right.
