Welcome to CTGA
Central Texas Golf Association (CTGA) is a non-profit, member-supported
organization open to all male and female amateur golfers in the greater
Austin, Texas area. We welcome you to the best golf league with the best
tournament schedule. If you are interested in joining CTGA, please refer
to our Prospective CTGA Member page.
The CTGA Board of Directors is committed to provide a golf schedule and
tournament environment that appeals to all its Members. The numbers of
tournaments and the variety of courses and tournament formats have been
scheduled based on inputs from Members and history of past participation.
To run our tournaments effectively, we ask for your help with the following:
- We ask all Members and their invited Guests to represent CTGA with
the highest respect and dignity. Proper conduct at and on the course
is important to us.
- Our goal at each tournament is for all players to enjoy golf, the
group we’re playing with, and the tournament format. CTGA’s
Rules of Play are consistent with USGA rules, with only CTGA specific
rules exceptions. It’s the responsibility of all Members to know
and apply both USGA and CTGA (specific) Rules of Play at all CTGA tournaments
and ensure that their invited Guests comply with same.
- The golf courses we play have differing dress codes. Some are quite
liberal while others require collared shirts or mock turtles with sleeves,
no “blue jeans”, no cut-offs, etc. To be consistent and
avoid non-compliance of dress codes at any course, CTGA Members have
approved our own dress code that requires collared shirts or mock turtles
with sleeves, no cut-offs, etc., at all CTGA tournaments. In addition,
we will identify those courses that may have specific added requirements
such as “no jeans”, etc.
- Slow Play affects all golfers. CTGA has a Pace of Play initiative
in place designed to help minimize “Undue Slow Play”. All
CTGA Members and their invited Guests are challenged to comply with
this initiative.
- All courses require leagues to commit to the number of players from
5 to 10 days prior to the event. CTGA is committed to comply with these
requirements. PLEASE make sure you know when the “Entry Deadline”
is for each tournament and sign up on or before that date.
Again, CTGA is a golf league that strives to make every tournament an
exciting and fun event.
SEE YOU ON THE FIRST TEE……………
