CTGA Tournament Guidelines

The CTGA Board of Directors is committed to providing a golf schedule and tournament environment that appeals to all its Members. The numbers of tournaments and the variety of courses and tournament formats have been scheduled based on inputs from Members and history of past participation.

To run our tournaments effectively, we ask for player cooperation as follows:

  • That all Members and their invited Guests represent CTGA with the highest respect and dignity. Proper conduct at and on the course is important to us.
  • Our goal at each tournament is for all players to enjoy golf, the group we're playing with, the golf course, and the tournament format.
  • CTGA plays to USGA Rules of Golf. Any CTGA specific rule exceptions and/or course local Rules will be defined to all Members and invited Guests. It's the responsibility of all Members to know and apply CTGA Rules of Play at all tournaments and ensure that their invited Guests comply with same.
  • The golf courses we play have differing dress codes. Some are liberal while others have defined dress requirements. To be consistent and avoid non-compliance of dress codes at any course, CTGA recommends that all Members dress consistent with upscale courses at all CTGA tournaments. CTGA also recommends that all players use soft spike shoes only.
  • Slow Play affects all golfers. CTGA Pace of Play goal is designed to help minimize "Undue Slow Play," and all CTGA Members and their invited Guests are challenged to comply with this goal.
  • All courses require leagues to commit to the number of players 5 to 10 days prior to the event. CTGA is committed to complying with these requirements and have "Signup Entry Deadlines" identified for each tournament.

Again, CTGA is a golf league that strives to make every tournament an exciting and fun event.

Jimmy Clay Results

Jimmy Clay results are now available.

  • In addition to the Jimmy Clay Medal Play Results, also attached is the results of Round 1 of our FedEx Cup Elimination Playoff.  Remember…no elimination between Playoff Round 1 and Round 2.  We’re all still in the running.
  • Another point of clarification….Our next tournament at Morris Williams is a regular Medal Play event and the FedEx Cup Playoff round is an added part of this tournament.
  • Sign up deadline for Morris Williams is Monday, September 18 for all players not in the FedEx Playoff.  All FedEx Playoff players will be add to the Morris Williams field UNLESS you send an email advising that you won’t be able to play Saturday.

Cowan Creek Results

Cowan Creek results are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Member ANTHRON CAVANAUGH and Special Guest STEVE BATTLE to our Cowan Creek event.
  • Our next event on Saturday, September 16 is a Medal Play event as all previous events…and the first round of our FedEx Cup Playoffs.
  • If you are competing in our FedEx Cup Playoffs, please note your intent in the Comment box when you sign up Online.
  • A list of all FedEx Cup qualifying players will be sent out within the next couple days along with the Playoff guidelines.

Yesterday was possibly the most brutal round of the year weather wise.  I don’t remember the heat index being this severe in the past.  It looks like a cooling trend is coming.  Let’s hope September shows us some significant relief.

Only one event left before our FedEx Cup Playoffs begin

Three (3) events remaining before our Fall Classic

Make sure you know where you stand for qualifying rounds.

And remember….our September 16 and September 23 events are regular Medal Play events and the FedEx Cup Playoffs are just an added part of those events.

Lastly, don’t forget that the date of our Fall Classic has moved from September 30~October 1 to October 14~15

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

 

Steve Barnes and Scott Preece will be the Directors in charge of this event, assisted by Eddie Nunez.  Please direct tournament day questions or concerns to them.

TRASH FLIGHT CARRYOVER:   No Carryover in either Trash Flight this event.

CLOSE TO PIN HOLES:  1st Trash Flight - #4 & #13;    2nd Trash Flight - #8 & #15.

 

KODAK CHALLENGE HOLES:  #2 and #11.

 

ROY KIZER DRESS CODE:  Although they have no specific dress code, CTGA asks that all players dress consistent with Country Club attire, so please dress accordingly.  They are a Soft Spike facility.

 

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST:   What else….Hot and Sunny, so stay hydrated.  If the weather does turn bad, call Eddie (512-797-0566) after8:00 on Saturday as he’ll be in touch with the course by then.
