Delaware Springs Tournament Specifics

Pairings for Delaware Springs are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Members TOMMY KEELING and REID MEREDITH to our Delaware Springs tournament.
  • We do have room for more players. If your plans have changed and you’re free to join us, please let me know ASAP.
  • Again, Morris Williams is not yet ready for play, so our final tournament for calendar year 2012 has been moved to White Wing in Sun City.
  • I hope everyone has had a chance to review our 2013 FedEx Cup and Kodak Challenge guidelines that were sent out to everyone on November 18. If you have any questions on either of these year-long events, please make sure you discuss them with any of your CTGA Directors at your convenience.

All players are responsible for knowing tournament specifics including Pairings, Assigned Tees, Flights, Starting Times, and Rules of Play. This information will be posted at the Delaware Springs Pro Shop before the start of play.

With a Shotgun Start beginning at 9:00, all players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play no later than 8:30.

Kevin Lowe and Scot Preece will be the Directors in charge of this event, assisted by Eddie Nunez. Please direct tournament day questions or concerns to them.

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST: Looks like another great CTGA golf day…a high of 78 with partly cloudy skies. If the weather does turn bad, call the golf course (512-756-8471) or Eddie Nunez (797-0566) after 7:30 on tournament day for status of play.

CTGA PACE OF PLAY: The pace of play in our last 2 tournaments was outstanding. We’ve proved that a sub-4:30 round is both easy to achieve and fun. Remember, it’s the responsibility of all players in your 4-some to work together to meet this goal.

DELAWARE SPRINGS DRESS CODE: No specific dress code, but CTGA does recommend all players dress consistent with country club standards. They are a soft spike facility.

  • Coming from the North, take Hwy 29 to Burnet then turn South (left) onto….
  • Hwy 281 for 2.5 miles, then turn Right…
  • Follow directions to golf course.
  • Coming from the South, take Hwy 71 West for @ 32 miles, then turn North (right) onto…
  • Hwy 281 for 15.8 miles, then turn Left…
  • Follow directions to golf course.
  • Allow about 1:20 drive time from center of Austin to Delaware Springs, so make sure you leave early enough to get there on time.

Teravista Tournament Specifics

Teravista pairings are now available.

CTGA welcomes New Member JASON HILL to our Teravista tournament.

 

  • Our November 17 tournament will be at Starcke Park in Seguin. If you haven’t played this course yet, you’re in for a treat.
  •  
  • Remember, with your next tournament your annual membership fee will be due.
  •  
  • Our 2013 FedEx Cup and Kodak Challenge guidelines will be sent out to everyone by Friday. 2012 was a banner year for both and we expect this year to be even better.

 

All players are responsible for knowing tournament specifics including Pairings,Assigned Tees, Flights, Starting Times, and Rules of Play. This information will beposted at the Teravista Pro Shop before the start of play.

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

With dusk at 5:34, it’s imperative that all CTGA 4-somes complete play within our rounds in less than 4:30 so our last group can finish before dark. Any 4-some falling behind and preventing our last 4-some from finishing will be penalized for excessive slow play.

THURSDAY WEATHER FORECAST: It can’t get much better than this…a high of 83 and clear skys. If the weather does turn bad, call the golf course (651-9850) or Eddie Nunez (797-0566) after 10:00 on tournament day for status of play.

 

TERAVISTA PACE OF PLAY POLICY: The required pace of play is a maximum of 15 minutes per hole (i.e. 4 hours & 30 minutes to complete 18 holes). If your event falls behind this pace, some or all of your groups will be requested to move to the next hole.

 

TERAVISTA DRESS CODE: Proper golf attire to be worn at all times, including collared shirts. Slacks, shorts or skirts must be hemmed and in good condition. Tank tops, swimwear, cutoffs, gym shorts and the like are not acceptable.

CTGA does recommend all players comply with these requirements. They are a soft spike facility.

Cowan Creek Tournament Specifics

Cowan Creek pairings are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Members AMIR ALPERT, ANDREW ARREDONDO, KARL MORRIS, and BRETT SMITH, and Special Guest NATHAN ALDERMAN to our Cowan Creek tournament.
  • This is our first official 2013 tournament. Remember that, for all of us playing Sunday, our annual Membership Fees are due unless arrangements are made with Sean to defer partial payment.
  • A new wrinkle with this tournament….the first ever event where we have 3 Player Pool Flights and Flights A & B play from the back tees and only Flight C plays from the up tees.

All players are responsible for knowing tournament specifics including Pairings, Assigned Tees, Flights, Starting Time, and Rules of Play. This information will be posted at the Cowan Creek pro shop before the start of play.

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play no later than 7:30 as we’ll be going to our starting holes at about 7:50. Starting holes will be advised at the course on Sunday.

6. Left on Sun City Blvd for 1.6 miles to….

7. Left on Cool Springs Way for 0.8 miles to Cowan Creek Golf Course on Left.

Jimmy Clay Tournament Specifics

Jimmy Clay pairings are now available.

Fedex Cup Round 1 starting points are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Members JASON DURAN, EZRA PETERSON and CHARLIE WILSON to our Jimmy Clay tournament.
  • Our Pairings for Jimmy Clay are set with FedEx Cup playoff competitors playing together unless special requests for preferred pairings have been identified.
  • Those FedEx Cup Playoff contestants competing in the September 22 tournament at Jimmy Clay should make sure you sign up for the September 30 event at Roy Kizer as well.
  • Countdown to our Fall Classic is now only 1 tournaments away after Jimmy Clay. We expect this to be our best Classic in years.

Falconhead Tournament Specifics

Falconhead pairings are now available.

  • CTGA welcomes New Members JASON DURAN, EZRA PETERSON and CHARLIE WILSON, and Special Guest ED REYNOLDS to our Falconhead tournament.
  • This is our last tournament before the start of our 2012 FedEx Cup Playoffs. We still have one tee time available in case anyone decides they want to get this one in.
  • Our September 22 tournament looks like it’ll still be at Jimmy Clay. They project to have their 2 new greens ready and in service by then. I’ve already advised them that our Fall Classic will be at Roy Kizer both days.
  • Countdown to our Fall Classic is now only 2 tournaments away after Falconhead. We expect this to be our best Classic in years.
