Jimmy Clay pairings are now available.

All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

 

Scott Preece and Steve Barnes will be the Directors in charge of this event, assisted by Eddie Nunez.  Please direct tournament day questions or concerns to them.

 

FORMAT:  Medal Play

 

1st TEE TIME:  9:00

 

TRASH FLIGHT CARRYOVER:   No Carryover in either Trash Flight this event.

CLOSE TO PIN HOLES:  1st Trash Flight - #2 & #12;    2nd Trash Flight - #5 & #14

 

KODAK CHALLENGE HOLES:  #6 and #12.

 

JIMMY CLAY DRESS CODE:  They have no specific dress code, however, CTGA asks that all players dress consistent with Country Club attire, so please dress accordingly.  They are a Soft Spike facility.

 

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST:   Early reports shows spotted clouds but no rain.  If the weather does turn bad, call Eddie after 7:00Saturday morning (512-797-0566) as he’ll be in touch with the course by then.

Vaaler Creek Tournament Results

Vaaler Creek results are now available.

  • CTGA welcomed New Members KYLE HERRING, BRANDON RAMIREZ, FREDY RODRIGUEZ, prospective new members JAROD LAYTON and TERRY RODRIGUEZ, and returning Guest BILL LAYTON to our Vaaler Creek event.
  • Saturday’s event at Vaaler Creek may have been one of the best events of the year weather wise with mild temp and good cloud cover.  We hope all 66 players enjoyed the day.
  • Our next event at Jimmy Clay on Saturday, July 1 is a Chicago format.  This is a variation of the Modified Stableford format.  An explanation will be sent with our usual Tournament Reminder later today.

VAALER CREEK TOURNAMENT RESULTS

 

In addition to our Medal Play winners, Special KUDOS to the following…..

  • Chris Reid with Individual Low Gross Round of the Day – 73
  • Keith Isbell with Individual Low Net Round of the day - 62
  • Closest Par 3 winning shots of the day in each Trash Flight:
    • ​1st Trash Flight:  Chris Reid – 5’ 5” on #9
    • 2nd Trash Flight:  Ryan Logue – 7’ 6” on #
  • Skins and Deuces were spread as both Trash Flights had 5 Skins and 5 Deuces each
  • For the first time in a few years we had 3 Eagles in an event….
    • Chakri Gottemukkala on the Par 5 #8
    • Brad Crandall on the Par 5 #16
    • Josh Johnson on the Par 5 #16

Bummer that an Eagle on #16 did not yield a Skin

When you enter into Rockin' J Ranch you will drive through the gate and proceed past the sales office. Approximately one mile past the gate you will come to a 4-way intersection.  Continue straight through the intersection another 3/4 of a mile to Jeff Vaughn Road. Turn right Jeff Vaughn Rd for about 1/4 mile tothe golf course on your right.

Star Ranch Tournament Specifics

Star Ranch pairings are now available.

Tee Times at Star Ranch run from 1:00 to 3:15.  Should be plenty of time for all foursomes to finish before dark (8:32).  Our Pace of Play over the past several events has been great, for the most part.  We need to continue our push for a 4:30 finish for all foursomes.
