Two-Day Team Tournament results are now available.

• CTGA welcomed our largest entry of New Members at a single tournament with STAN FRAMPTON, GREG GENTRY, MURRAY GRAHAM, BRIAN JENSEN, FRANK OJONG OBI, KINNY OCHOA, CHRIS REID, and HAYDEN STEWART playing their first event. We also welcomed Special Guests JENNY ADAMS, JIM ROSENTHAL and BILL THOMAS to our event.
• Also a first in our CTGA events included two “Mothers to be” with Member Wendy Villegas and Special Guest Jenny Adams, both due sometime in September.
• Our FedEx Cup points for this event will be out tomorrow.

This event has been a part of CTGA for the past 8+ years and was not only the largest field to date, but also the most competitive. We can’t wait to see the turnout at this year’s Fall Classic.

The results of our 2-Day Team Championship competition.

1st Flight: The Team of Brian Jensen and Scott Preece wins a Team Back 9 Scorecard Playoff with a Team Net 66 over Brad Powers and Brad Kendrick who had a Team Net 70. Both Teams shot a 2-Day Team Total 194.

2nd Flight: The Team of Greg Loughmiller and Ken Pilcher finished with a 2-Day Team total 197 and barely edged out 3 other Teams.

I was told we had just enough rain during the round to remind everyone what that phenomenon felt like. It sounded like the greens had sufficient grass….almost too much that kept them slower than usual.

Almost a copy of last tournament with warmer temp and a breeze that made the day a bit more challenging. Today was a reminder of why we so enjoy the Sun City courses.

CTGA welcomed New Members DANIEL BILLINGSLEY, CHAKRI GOTTEMUKKALA, MIKE HALL and JIM PETITT, and Special Guests BRANDON CLOUDT, JOE LENART and JUSTIN McCARTY to our Shadow Glen tournament.

Our next tournament will be at Cowan Creek and is on Sunday, May 18. Signup deadline for this tournament, again, is Monday, May 12.

It looks like the warmer temp is finally hear to stay, and, despite a stronger breeze than we’d like to see, it was another great day for CTGA golf. It was back to Austin area muny greens…and the reality that we’ll probably not see greens like Lakecliff again until next year.

• CTGA welcomed New Member Alvin Gregson to our Lakecliff tournament
• Our next tournament will be at Shadow Glen and is on Sunday, May 4. Signup deadline for this tournament, again, is Monday, April 28.

April 24 just may have been the ideal CTGA tournament venue in the last 12 months. Temp in the 80’s, a slight breeze and a golf course that gave us excellent conditions tee to green….and the most outstanding greens that we won’t see again until we play Lakecliff again next year. I spoke to the head pro after we finished and told him we would probably schedule 2 weekday rounds there in 2015.
