Delaware Springs Tournament Results
Delaware Springs results are now available.
- CTGA welcomed New Members DOUG DAVIS, SHELLY McLAUGHLIN and JOHN WEISHEIT, and Special Guests RALPH LOUGHMILLER and JAMES RASH to our Delaware Springs tournament.
- Several members found it necessary to withdraw from this event for reasons beyond their control. Each contacted us prior to tournament time and we thank them for that. Because of this, we had to adjust the payout amount to 3 places for 1st Flight and 4 places for 2nd and 3rd Flights.
- Members Ed Hipert and Sean Nunez each had a HOLE-IN-ONE in April. Congratulations to both. We’d like all members to let us know when great feats like this happen so we can share it with everyone. Eagles, Double Eagles, Aces, Career Low Score, etc., are what we’d like to share.
Attached are the results of our Delaware Springs tournament today. The weather was nothing short of “fantastic”…probably the best so far this year. This and the great course made for a fun day. Here’s hoping the future will give us continuing great playing conditions.

Morris Williams Results
Morris Williams results are now available.
- CTGA welcomed New Members BILL CASTILLO and PETE GARCIA and Special Guests DAVID ALLEN, DJ ALLEN, JESSE ALLEN, CODY BURCH, and ROBERT CAPWELL to our Morris Williams tournament.
- Our 6 and 12 hole Pace of Play monitors continue to show positive results. All CTGA 4-somes completed our play in under 4:30. Our thanks to everyone for your continuing effort.
- Our Quicksand tournament this Saturday may be changed to a Tee Time start rather than a Shotgun start. I spoke to the pro there and he said we need a minimum of 40 players to do a Shotgun start. I’ll know if we reach the 40 number this afternoon.
- A reminder to everyone that actual Gross Scores should be recorded on the official Scorecards only and we would like to have all Birdies and Eagles circled as well.
Attached are the results of our Morris Williams tournament yesterday. Some great scores were reflected by the mild weather and excellent course conditions.

Avery Ranch Results
Avery Ranch results are now available.
- CTGA welcomed New Member SHAWN HIGGINS to our Avery Ranch tournament.
- Our 6 and 12 hole Pace of Play monitors are working. Everyone is becoming more and more conscious of where we are vs where we should be at these intervals. This equates to all CTGA 4-somes finishing within an acceptable time. A big Thank You and Congrats to all.
-
For those not familiar with our 2-3-4 Best Ball format, the Team Scoring is very simple:
- The 1st 6 holes (1-6) will record the 2 Low Net Scores of the Team
- The 2nd 6 holes (7-12) will record the 3 Low Net Scores of the Team
- The 3rd 6 holes (13-18) will record all 4 Team Players’ Net Scores
Also, a reminder: you can sign up as a full 4-Player Team, as a partial Team or as a Single and we’ll “blind draw” our Singles to fill Teams.
This is a great format that gets all 4 Team Players involved in the game.
Compared to the past couple events, the elements were somewhat subdued at Avery Ranch. As the weather continues to warm, the winds may just start relaxing as well. Here’s hoping.
Congratulations to our Flight winners….
- 1st Flight: Erik Rudi (77-72)
- 2nd Flight: Tim Wise (86/73)
- 3rd Flight: Paul Cole (90/67)

Jimmy Clay Results
Jimmy Clay results are now available.
- CTGA welcomed New Member MICHAEL SHORT and Special Guest CONNOR LOWE to our Jimmy Clay tournament.
- All 4-somes completed their round within 12 minutes of the group in front. Our actual finish times were about 4:45, the result of everyone waiting for Joe Q Public on almost every back nine hole. Kudos to all who played yesterday as everyone did their job to meet our Pace of Play Goal.
- Remember….our next tournament is on Thursday, March 28. Signup deadline for this tournament is the FRIDAY before the event.
Mother Nature continued her harsh elements on us. Last week it was moisture and yesterday was a relentless wind. Fortunately it didn’t affect our Pace of Play.

- 2nd Flight: Scott Preece (96 / -4 Points)
- 3rd Flight: Michael Short (93 / +1 Point)

Roy Kizer results are now available.
- CTGA welcomed New Members DAVE CANNING, NATHAN KIRMIS, PETE NIGBOR, REECE POTTER, PHILLIP and WENDY VILLEGAS, and Special Guest PAUL COLE to our Roy Kizer tournament.
- A great field for Roy Kizer, with 59 players. Here’s hoping it’s a preview of what CTGA can expect as the weather continues to improve.
- As the results show, our 5th Flight payout was increased to 5 places because the final number of players increased to 15 by tournament day.
- Those who have yet to play Vaaler Creek should make every effort to play this great course on March 9. It continues to be one of the best venues in central Texas.
Had the wind been a bit more cooperative, yesterday’s weather would have been nothing less than perfect.
