PLUM CREEK TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The only thing that kept our event from being perfect was arguably the hardest breeze we’ve endured in over a year.  Even with the breeze, everyone seemed to have a great time, scores of those who placed were impressive, as was our Pace of Play.  In spite of the wind, our average finish time was just over 5 hours.  Even the course staff complimented us on our finish time.

Congratulations to our Flight winners…..

1st Flight:   Brad Powers (78/73)

2nd Flight:  Dave McGuire (83/74)

3rd Flight:  Anthony Guzaldo (89/75)

4th Flight:  Phillip Villegas (87/72)

5th Flight:  Bill McKean (Rookie) (90/74)

  • Mike Zizza with the Low Net Round of the Day - 71

JIMMY CLAY TOURNAMENT RESULTS

“They said it couldn’t be done.”  With a 2 hour frost delay yesterday morning, the probability of all CTGA players completing their round looked bleak, with our 1st Pairing group scheduled to start at about 12:00 and our last going off at 2:20.  However, with some creative moves approved by the Jimmy Clay staff, all 18 groups finished the event.  Here’s how we did it:

1.      Our 1st six Pairings were sent off the back 9 starting at 10:50

2.      Our remaining 4-somes were able to start play on hole #1 beginning at about 11:30

3.      The Jimmy Clay staff then moved the general public pairings scheduled to start after our tournament to Roy Kizer, which allowed our groups starting on #10 to continue immediately behind our last group going off #1.

4.      All CTGA 4-somes played at a very impressive pace that allowed our final group to walk off #18 just before dark.

The Jimmy Clay staff was making arrangements with the maintenance crew to not change the pin placements and mow the back 9 greens this morning that would have been needed to allow our players to come back today to finish play.  Fortunately, this wasn’t necessary.

Our thanks go out to all CTGA players for your Pace of Play yesterday and to the Jimmy Clay staff for their assistance.

Now back to our Jimmy Clay tournament.
