  • REMEMBER TO GET YOUR PARTNERS FOR THE FALL CLASSIC TEAM COMPETITION…..All players can be on a maximum of 2 Teams. If you want to play but don’t have partner(s), we’ll get you paired up at the course on Saturday. For those who aren’t familiar with this part of the competition, we’ll be sending out Fall Classic details tomorrow.

  • 1st Place – Dave McGuire (82/72) won a scorecard playoff with a Back 9 Net 35 over Anthony Guzaldo (85/72) - Back 9 Net 38 and Brian Melnyk (81/72) – Back 9 Net 39)

3rd FLIGHT:

Our 2011 FedEx Cup Finals will be played concurrent with our 2011 Fall Classic at Cowan Creek on October 1 & 2.

ROY KIZER TOURNAMENT SPECIFICS

  • All players are responsible for knowing tournament specifics including Pairings, Assigned Tees,
    Flights, Starting Holes, and Rules of Play. This information will be posted at the Roy Kizer
    pavilion before the start of play.
  • All players should be at the course, signed in and ready to play at least 30 minutes prior to your
    scheduled start time.
  • Jeff Jones and Chris Wadle will be the Directors in charge of this event assisted by Eddie Nunez.
    Please direct tournament questions or concerns to them.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Medal Play

1st TEE TIME: 10:30

TEES TO PLAY:

  • 1st and 2nd Flights play Black Tees
  • 3rd and 4th Flights play Blue Tees
  • No Ladies in this event

TRASH CARRY OVER: Carry over in the 2nd Deuce Flight.

KODAK CHALLENGE HOLES: # 7 and # 17.

SATURDAY WEATHER FORECAST: Sunny and 90’s on. If the weather does turn bad,
call the golf course (444-0999) after 8:30 on tournament day for status of play.

DRESS CODE: Roy Kizer has no specific dress code. However, we ask all members to dress
consistent with upscale course requirements. They are a Soft Spike facilities.

Morris Williams Results

Morris Williams results are now available.

Our PACE of PLAY at Morris Williams was excellent. All groups were in within 15 minutes of each other , the first group round time was 4 hours and 24 minutes. We thank all players for their efforts.

Our next tournament is at Roy Kizer, Medal format and the second round of the Fedex. The points earned at Kizer will be added to the points earned through the Morris Williams round.

There was a Texas Longhorns putter cover found at Morris Williams – let us know if you lost one.

  • AGAIN…..Our next 2 tournaments (Morris Williams and Roy Kizer) are regular tournaments…..and the 1st 2 rounds of our FedEx Cup Playoffs.
  • Specifics for Round 1 of our FedEx Cup Playoffs will be out on Wednesday.

JIMMY CLAY TOURNAMENT RESULTS

  • 1st Place – Bill Lindquist (81-74) won scorecard playoff over Ben Hough (76-74) with a Net Back 9 score of 36 to Ben’s 38.

  • 1st Place – Ed Hilpert (80-69) 2nd Place – Lindsay Shuff (86-76) 3rd Place – Kevin 3rd FLIGHT:
  • 1st Place – Mike Cearly (87-72) won scorecard playoff over Joe Gimenez (84-72) and Jim Abrams (86-72). Back 9 Net scores were Mike 36, Joe 36 and Jim 38. Playoff went to last 6 holes Net with Mike (23) beating Joe (25).

4th FLIGHT:

  • 1st Place – Carl Givens (88-71) won scorecard playoff over Jeff Jones (88-71) with a Net Back 9 score of 36 to Jeff’s 37.
  • 3rd Place – Charley Clay (88-72)

And special congratulations to…….

  • Patrick Sexton for taking both Close-To-Pins in the 2nd Trash Flight.
  • Greg Jones for the only Deuce in the 1st Trash Flight.
  • Travis Brown, Joe Gimenez and Anthony Guzaldo for splitting the large 2nd Deuce Flight pot.
