Fall Classic Results
Fall Classic and Kodak Challenge results are now available.
- Mother Nature tried her best to put a “damper” on our Fall Classic….but with no success. It was touch and go on Saturday, with a 2 ½ hour delay, but when we finally got started, it was a great day. Sunday started the same, with another 20 minute delay. Then the rain stopped, the group started and it turned out to be another great day of golf for CTGA.
- Our November 2 tournament scheduled at Landa Park in New Braunfels will be moved to another site. They opened their doors for play on October 8 after a 12 month complete course renovation. I played the course on October 9 and, although I’m somewhat impressed with the changes they’ve made, the course is just not ready for play. Jimmy Clay is available to us and it may be the last time we’ll be able to play there until mid-summer next year as they will be shutting down to re-do all their greens. I’ll keep you informed.
2014 FALL CLASSIC RESULTS
To all who were as optimistic as me on Saturday, we thank you. We commend your commitment and dedication to CTGA tournament play.
Attached are the 4 major results of our 2-Day event, including:
Medal Play and Trash Competition
2-Player Team Competition
FedEx Cup Finals Competition
Kodak Challenge Final Results
Congratulations to all our 2014 competition winners. I won’t even try to list all the competition winners, so enjoy the attachments.
I will, however, single out several important people who helped make this event one to remember…….
- Kevin Lowe and Scott Preece for their outstanding work in posting all the Medal Play and FedEx Cup tournament results. These guys are the cornerstone of our tournament day activities every event;
- To Sean Nunez who has the responsibility of our finances every tournament, for keeping individual member accounts in order, and his responsibility to pay the course on tournament day. It’s his commitment that ensures the success of our annual Fall Classic.
- Steve Barnes, Mike Cearley and John Vayo for their volunteer help to ease the burden of all that needed to be done during these 2 days;
- To our members who took it upon themselves to chip in with assistance on Saturday and Sunday;
- To our Nunez Catering Crew….Sean Nunez, Leigh Nunez, Stacy Nunez and Walker Nunez for the Potato Salad, Salsa, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Brisket, Cole Slaw, and Brownies, and having them ready and waiting for us on Saturday and Sunday;
- And to our Suds & Soda Crew….Kevin Lowe, Scott Preece and Mike Cearley for having the brew, sodas and water on ice and ready to quench our thirsts.
And finally, there’s no rest for the weary…..Our first official 2015 tournament is on Saturday, October 25 at Delaware Springs. Sign up deadline for this event is Monday, October 20.
We hope to see you all there.
