• CTGA welcomed New Members JERRY FRANTZ and MANUEL URISTE Jr to our Wolfdancer tournament.
• The format for our next tournament, at Morris Williams, is called Chicago. For those not familiar with this format, go to our website at www.centexgolf.org, and under Rules & Regulations, click on Tournament Formats.

Thursday was a good day sandwiched between some pretty brutal days. Let’s hope all of CTGA 2014 tournament dates will cooperate.

Jimmy Clay results are now available.

•  CTGA welcomed New Members JACOB GONZALES, RUSSELL GREENBLATT, KYLE RAYMOND, Returning Member LEO AGUIRRE, and Special Guests MICHAEL ADAMS, MICHAEL AMADOR, ERNESTO BOYD, and PEDRO CORDON to our Jimmy Clay tournament.
• Although the probability of Jimmy Clay shutting down as early as mid-March to redo all their greens, the final decision has not yet been given. We’ll keep everyone informed on this.
• Our Pace of Play efforts yesterday were excellent. Our first group finished in 4:07 and our last pairing at 4:41. All groups were within a hole of each other which also was impressive. The pro shop staff thanked us for our efforts. Let’s make this the norm rather than the exception. A very special THANK YOU to all Jimmy Clay players.

Just about everything about our Jimmy Clay tournament was positive. The only really negative was the 15+ mph winds. Our largest field of 2014, we proved that a good Pace of Play is possible.

• CTGA welcomed New Members STEVE CARRILLO, DAVID NOWICKI, JOHN RELIC, and REINEER SCHELERT, and Special Guest DON ALEXANDER to our White Wing tournament.

Unfortunately there was some significant frustration with the Pace of Play at White Wing. Eddie realizes now that his decision to put the 6th Flight on the Blue Tees was a good one, but putting the 3rd Flight on Black Tees wasn’t and he attributes some of yesterday’s problem to this decision. Also a major fault goes to White Wing staff for putting too many 4-somes on the course, especially with a shotgun start. Be assured we learn as we go and we won’t make mistakes like this as we go forward.

Another superb day for CTGA golf….and another strong field of 53, including 3 New Members, 1 Returning Member and 6 Special Guest. With the ideal weather, both Individual and Team scores were impressive.
