4-Player Baseball (Designated Hitter)

This fun and popular format gets all 4 team members involved in the scoring. Optional Formats:

  • Each team designates its members as players A, B, C and D. Player A is designated hitter (DH) on holes #1, 5, 10, and 14. Player B is DH on holes #2, 6, 11, and 15; player C on #3, 7, 12, and 16; and player D on #4, 8, 13, and 17. Each team members plays his/her own ball until it is holed out. The net score of the DH and the lowest net score of the other 3 players will be used for the team score on each hole. With no designated hitter on holes #9 and #18, the 2 lowest net scores of the team are used for the team score. The team with the lowest team net score wins. The second lowest team net score is 2nd, etc.
  • Designated Hitters are determined by Handicap Holes. Player A is designated hitter (DH) on handicap holes #1, 2, 3, and 4. Player B is DH on handicap holes #5, 6, 7, 8; player C on handicap holes #9, 10, 11, 12; player D on handicap holes #13, 14, 15, 16. No DH for handicap holes #17 and 18. All other scoring rules will apply as above.
