Fall Classic Results

Fall Classic results are now available.

2018 FedEx Cup results are now available.

The unpredictable weather these past 3 weekends were great for CTGA tournament play.  With forecast every weekend calling for rain, it’s hard to believe we got nothing more than a slight shower at Jimmy Clay on September 29.  The Golf Gods were with us again.

As we mentioned at our Annual Meeting, there are several issues that your Directors will be working on over the next few weeks as we prepare for the start of our 2019 CTGA Tournament Year.  Once complete, we will send the information out to all members.

DIRECTOR MESSAGE

Our annual meeting on Saturday, I feel, confirmed that CTGA not only has the best tournament schedule year in and year out over all other leagues, but also has the best members.  As I mentioned at the meeting, both our membership and average participation were down this year, but that is expected from time to time.  I would like to challenge all members to start looking for and inviting prospective new member that you feel would complement CTGA in 2019.  Along with our website and posters at the City courses, the recruiting by our members is the most dynamic way to get new members.

2018 FALL CLASSIC RESULTS

Our Fall Classic this weekend was a great success, we thank all who played and look forward to seeing you at our next one in 2019.

Attached are the results of our Medal Play competition and FedEx Playoff Finals.  Results of our 2-Player Team competition and our Kodak Challenge Final Results will be sent out later this week.

Congratulations to all our Fall Classic competition winners.  I won’t even try to list all our weekend winners here, so enjoy the attachments.

As I do every year, I have to single out several important members who are the backbone of our league and who helped make our Fall Classic another great success…….

  • Steve Barnes, Scott Preece and John Vayo, our At Large Directors, who were the ones who made all our tournaments run like a Rolls Royce machine.  We’re glad they’ll be back again in 2019.
  • Sean Nunez, who has the responsibility for managing all the aspects of our finances every tournament.  It’s his commitment that ensures the success of our annual Fall Classic.
  • To Stacey and Cooper Nunez and Barbara Rivera for making sure our food was ready when we finished our round.
  • Cooper Nunez for his help posting Medal Play Scores and his uncanny ability to draw the right tickets for all you lucky guys.
  • To our members who took it upon themselves to chip in with assistance on Saturday and Sunday;
  • To the 51 CTGA members who joined us on this picture perfect weekend.

As with every year after our Fall Classic, there’s no rest for the weary…..our first official 2019 tournament will be on October 21 at Delaware Springs.  A great venue and course to showcase CTGA to prospective new members.
